The Weekend Edition. 01
The lowdown on my week, what I've been reading, watching and learning, plus the 8 things I'll be buying from the Reformation sale.
Sunday Snippets
One thing about me is that I love to keep busy, and what a busy week this was. I had my first classes for uni and am really enjoying the content so far. Work has opened up so many incredible opportunities with my writing being reshared on my fave brand’s accounts (eek! pinch me!), invites to beautiful art exhibitions, and dining at Brisbane’s best restaurants. I find myself feeling more and more inspired by the city and trying new things out with friends.
Some highlights as follows:

Sunday Saves & Shopping
I woke up today with an exciting email from Reformation: SALE’S COMING. So naturally I browsed the site and saved a few things to my cart.

Monday Moodboad:
Next Week: Feeling inspired by the change in season & aiming to be more intentional with my daily routine.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack of the week has consisted of 12 to 12 by Sombr on REPEAT, The Subway by Chappell Roan, and Inhaler’s Cuts & Bruises album.
I also really enjoyed listening to Margot Lee talk on her career journey and share her advice on Working Title.
Stories & Shows
I just finished season one of Poker Face, and oh my god is it the best show ever. The way it is directed is so clever. Essentially, Charlie Cale has the unique ability to detect lies. It’s not like the typical whodunit shows where the perpetrator is revealed at the end. Rather we see the crime committed and watch how Charlie solves the crime by calling bullshit on people’s lies.
Right now I am reading Machiavelli’s Discourses on Livi for my class on Constructing The West. Look, it’s a tough read but not as bad as The Prince.
Searches
With the Mecca flagship store opening in Melbourne, I have been really into doing beauty deep dives. I stumbled across SheereLuxe’s video on CGC, which is one of the UK’s leading beauty PR agencies. They represent Glossier (my fave), Augustinus Bader, La Bonne Brosse, and many more. I’ve always dreamed of working with a brand like Glossier, and a communication agency might just be the pathway.
Founder, Clare Goodwin, is an icon herself. So, naturally I searched her up to find more. Safe to say she is my new inspiration with her refined yet aspirational approach to the beauty world.
That’s it from me! Mainly just a way of procrastinating actually reading the Discourses and uncovering what “virtue” really means
Signing off,
Ella x
