Weekend Edition. 03
The week before the big move. Final days at home.
Happy first weekend edition of January! I am writing this as I fly to Sydney tomorrow officially move & start my new job (pinch me!!). It feels a little surreal given this has been my dream for so long. I remember this time two years ago I was down in Sydney for Taylor Swift and never in my wildest dreams imagined I would be returning six months later to start my internship at LTK. Since then, I have lived in Sydney for Winter 2024 and Summer 2025 as well as visited for Fashion Week and Summer Club. It’s going to be a big year and I could not feel more ready for it.
Sunday snippets
A little recap on the first week of January - 1st-4th doesn’t count because I was sick and nothing happens then anyways. I tried to see as many friends as possible before leaving, which meant a lot of lovely home cooked meals, walks, and countless açai dates. I truly feel so grateful for the beautiful friends I have. And how lucky I am that they make leaving home so hard ❤️🩹.

Sunday Saves and Shopping
Mode Mischief is having a pop up in Sydney for the month of January and I cannot get these fabulous pants out of my head. A quick scan of my fits board on Pinterest shows plenty of 3/4 tees, so I will be picking this one up from Mode.

This year I have made the goal to be more intentional with the music I’m listing to - bye bye DJ X. I want to listen to albums top to bottom and get out of the suggested shuffle rut that feeds you the same music over and over again. My friend and I are also trying to listen to songs with higher vibrations.
Stories and Shows
Started rewatching Sex and The City with my friend. Iconic. No notes.
Loved Plum Sykes book Party Girls Die with Pearls. She writes a fabulous description of high society England in the 80s and the actual murder mystery is well crafted. I have also just started reading This View is Exhausting by Mikaella Clements and Onjuli Datta - so far so good.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video by orenmeetsworld on cultivating taste. It’s the process of critiquing and expressing your opinion, which is something engrained into my classics degree. The video has inspired me to complete a “taste” exercise to be more intentional when consuming media.
I also loved Kate Moss’ episode on Fashion Neurosis. It is such a treat to listen to the wisdom and experience of fashion and cultural influencers like herself.

As I prepare for my Honours year, I have been consuming study content on YouTube to inspire myself to finally tackle the piles of readings I must get to. Olive has become my new favourite creator with the most beautifully filmed and edited videos that provide a glimpse into the life of a Cambridge University Classics student. Her attention to the mundane has made me realise I really need to romanticise and enjoy this final year of study (… for now).

I stumbled across this TikTok account and safe to say Hannah is my new style inspiration.
La femme Sargent - felt like this song perfectly captured how I was feeling at the time.
That’s all for today! I can not wait to update on my first week living in the big cityyyy!
Signing off,
Ella x
