Weekend Edition. 04
Reflections on coming home.
Safe to say I did not keep to my goal of writing a Weekend Edition. each week while in Sydney. I am now back in Brisbane (and have been for the past 3 weeks lol). But, I actually could not be more happy to be back in the city!! So much has happened in the past three weeks. What I thought was the whirlwind of travelling in Europe, and then living in Sydney, turns out to just be life (feeling very grateful!).
Sunday Snippets
This week I had my first presentation for my honours seminar on receptions of ancient Rome in the media. I was fortunate enough to select my topic on Bernard Shaw’s reception in his play Caesar and Cleopatra. I’ve had a long fascination with ancient Egypt and specifically Cleopatra. Any chance I got in high school to research further, I took it, writing many essays on her life and representation in today’s world. Being able to present on it for my honours (!) felt pretty fulfilling.
MOTW: Celebrated St Patty’s Day (!!), tried out the vibiest cafe in Fortitude Valley called So What Stereo, serving up the best Kao Soi in Brisbane and playing records all day long.

Sunday Saves and Shopping
I couldn’t help myself. It’s the beginning of Autumn and I have been pinning outfit inspiration all week long. So, I did some damage at Kookai (you can read all about it here) and I love everything I bought! Hero purchase has to be the Maria Pant in black because I wore the cream all summer long.

Soundtrack
Harry Style’s latest album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally., has been on repeat all week. Top 3: The Waiting Game, Dance No More, and American Girls.
Again, really into my Fleetwood Mac and Lenny Kravitz (thank you Love Story).
Stories and Shows
Anika and I started watching Love Story after waiting far too long. I am absolutely hooked. Like almost any girl, I have always idolised Carolyn’s style and now I aim to embody her cool, calm and collected outlook on life.
But in all honesty, it’s crunch time at uni so the only media I have been consuming has either been historical novels, performances of Shakespeare plays, and then podcasts and YouTube videos discussing them.
Screenshots
New fashion fixation: Parisian Cowgirl. She embodies chic with such effortless outfits that I will be taking inspiration from as the seasons change.
Lol this is such a stretch, but the Sloan Wool the by The Anteros is indescribably gorgeous. I love this feminine take on the tuxedo shirt, and in the lilac… oh my god.
Currently on the search for recs for Bali and I stumbled across this jewellery making course:
Here’s to another exciting week!
Signing off,
Ella x
