An update on study, new music + what I purchased from The Waiting Room sale
hiii hiii! I’ve been feeling pretty inspired this week and finding so much newness in a place I thought I thought I had learnt every last bit about.
Sunday Snippets
This week I had to really had to buckle down and focus on my study (oops). Managed to be on campus every day this week. Would like to say I was productive but I cannot help to have a good catch up with my friends (and you really do run into everyone on campus).
I have spent all my time and money on matcha this week. I can’t help myself - there is the most amazing cafe on campus which sells… drum roll please … MathcaMisu. It’s an tiramisu iced matcha latte, and one thing about me is I love matcha but I LOVE tiramisu.

Sunday Saves and Shopping
On Tuesday The Waiting Room had a 30% off sale, which obviously justified myself pulling the trigger and finally making a purchase. Unfortunately the tees sold out in my size so I got the black Rhoe Top. I have a similar-ish top in white from Lagaam, which is an absolute staple in my closet, so I am very keen to have another dressy top in black. I also got the skirt (upon second look I think I ordered the navy not the black).

Soundtrack
Was feeling nostalgic this week and listened to the 2024 set from Rock en Seine. Fred again’s Talk of the Town came up as a recommended track and now I’m hooked.
I also came across Cruz Beckham’s new song and my friends and I have agreed it is actually really good. At first you think wow nepo babies really do anything these days and then you realise his mum is quite literally Victoria Beckham - the Posh Spice.
Stories & Shows
A friend recommended watching Louis Theroux’s Inside The Manosphere, and it was already on my list so I finally sat down to watch it. I work in the creator space but pretty specific to Australian fashion and beauty creators (which happen to be predominately female). So, it was confronting to see how popular these extremist male influencers were. Overall def recommend the watch - and also reminds me heavily of Kate Manne’s Entitled: How Male Privilege Hurts Women chapter on Entitlement to Sex.
And of course, as you can tell from the photos above, I spent MAJORITY of my week reading my book for my thesis - Liberty as Independence: The Making and Unmaking of a Political Ideal by Quentin Skinner (I won’t bore you with the details).

With all this reading, I had to treat myself to an episode or two of SATC. And I couldn’t help but wonder… how can I achieve a shoe collection like Carrie Bradshaw. So, I scoured the internet for cool but affordable designers making fun and funky heels. I also wrote about it in this substack <33

Saw Sara (@styledbysara) wear the most gorgeous top from Loulou de Saison. Immediately added it to my wishlist.
The most gorgeous dress from Ralph Lauren Fall 2009 collection. More to come…
Keeping it short bc I have many more readings to complete!
Signing off,
Ella x
