Back in sydney! Seeing friends, cool work events & new menswear brands
Sunday Snippets
Back in Sydney and life is goooood. This was an event heavy week with the Mother’s Day Gifting Suite, THE ICONIC x Arket lunch, and many catch ups in between. Honestly, I have come back home feeling so energised from many conversations with cool & creative people. Caught up with old friends and met many new ones!
MOTW: I can’t lie that first moment of seeing a friend who you haven’t see in a while has to be top 10 best feelings in the world! Feeling super grateful to have such beautiful friendships here in syd annnnd feeling even more grateful to my loving friends at home!!

Sunday Saves and Shopping
Two of the events we held this week were with THE ICONIC. So naturally I now have an extensive wish list of all the pretty things I saw this week. Here is everything I am loving from ARKET.

Stay tuned for a haul because I can’t get that jacket off my mind since seeing Courtney Sims style it.

So a little fun fact - my boss was Anna Wintour’s assistant in the early 2000s! Safe to say I asked her all about this week’s episode of The Run-Through with Vogue:
What a week! Olivia dropped her lead single “drop dead” and I am obsessed. Listened to it on repeat during my walk from Paddington to DB and the whole flight home.
Well not the whole flight… some other honourable mentions on the current mixtape:
Stories & Shows
Watched my first Hitchcock film this week. Now that I am back down in Sydney, Simone has taken it upon herself to continue my film education. My favourite was Rebecca given the gorgeous clothes and thrilling storyline. It’s always fun to see the blueprint for further tropes and techniques like the insane housekeeper or absent character.

Two things have bought Anna-Lou Leibovitz to my attention. 1) The new Vogue cover shot by Leibovitz featuring Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour and 2) watching Pret-A-Porter the 1994 film all about PFW.
Leibovitz is a highly respected fashion photographer known for her innate ability to capture her subject’s personality and inner life. Not only has she photographed the likes of John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Nixon during her time as Rolling Stone’s chief photographer, but she is the first female to have a solo exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.

I listened to a great interview with Blake Evin on More To Say giving great insight to the creator landscape and strategies to grow her audience.
Stumbled across Sweet Hat Company, a Virginian menswear brand, that has quickly become my latest obsession. This suede leather jacket in particular is everything I need. I cannot express how much I love when designers get creative with leather and I love the embossed horse detail.
LÈ BAUS is another menswear brand I am LOVING atm. Pronounced “le boss”, the brand has Persian roots and is designed Australia and made in Portugal. I visited their Paddington store this weekend, which is beautiful, and fell in love with the quality of their fabrics and duality of their designs - will defs be doing a deep dive later this week.
Now I seriously have an essay to write so that’s all from me.
Signing off,
Ella x
